Eternal Flame is an interactive portable war memorial, and consists of a fake plastic plant and a pair of bronze cowboy boots on a steel pedestal. The work invites closer examination of the romantic details of the boots while the two flames erupt like flame throwers when anyone gets too close. This sculpture is dedicated to reconsidering time and how the ideology of manifest destiny has influenced the recording of American history.
