Passing through the many residential and industrial landscapes in The Netherlands, Germany and Italy, and having been exposed to their long and rich traditions of decorative ceramic tiles for domestic as well as industrial/institutional architectural applications, I became intrigued about finding some kind of synthesis, or maybe better said, a compromise, a resolution, between our age-old efforts to improve our built world and how the impacts of those efforts affect the environment. To this end I configured several of my sky tiles into a house, echoing this intention in the large format ceramic tile, Ohm Sweet Ohm.
