Aware of my technobronzes, and also the figurative works in ceramic covered with technoglyph body-tattoos, an architect from Milan, Marco Ferreri, approached me to produce a life-size tortoise of the Galapagos variety, with a veil of technoglyphs, in this case covering the shell. Commissioned for clients of his for their garden at their weekend house just outside of the city, bronze was chosen as the obvious material to contrast the slowness of time passing through the centuries with the exponential rush of technological development.
