Technobelisk I

1996

In Technobelisk I, the shaft of an obelisk - itself inspired by the double-headed match in Minimalist Vacation (1992) - was covered with a skin of printed circuits in bas relief and subsequently cast in bronze. This synthesis of a potentially wobbly, unstable form, with unknown latent energy and power, covered with technoglyphs, stands as a mile marker and warning for the direction industrialization has taken.
